What are your five favorite movies of all time?

OK... They are:

Once- i just found out this movie a few months ago. it's an indie musical film (maybe that's why it was never shown in our country) about a boy and a girl (nameless throughout the film) who sing songs about their love life. The songs and the plot are great! Very unexpectedly beautiful!

Love Actually- i've watched this a million times and i think our dvd is starting to give up on me. all those cheesy people should watch this. my favorite story was with colin firth and that portugese girl. Absolutely sweet!!!

Stardust- neil gaiman is amazing! he writes super creative and funny stories. After watching this film, i bought all his books and read them! haha!

Juno- a lot of my friends have been recommending this movie and so, i gave in and watched it just last week (i know! i'm a loser!). The movie is great! Although i found ellen paige and michael cera's relationship awkward at first, it became sweet at the last part of the movie.

Alex & Emma- i just had to pick one movie with kate hudson on it. i absolutely adore her!

What are your tips for a successful first year of college?

do your BEST. don't take things too lightly. i think that it would be better if you try your hardest already during your freshman yr. this would eventually proppel you to achieve more in the coming years by going a few notches higher to outdo yourself.

befriend EVERYONE (students, professors and even the non-teaching staff!) and don't descriminate. when you're successful with that, you'll eventually discover the group of people that you can mostly relate to, then, stick with them. you can help each other out especially with adjusting to the new environment that you got yourselves into. there's also a huge possibility that they will be the ones whom you will be with until you graduate (so, pick a good group or make one). if you kick yourself out of the group, it will be harder for you to find another.

VOLUNTEER whenever there's a chance and do your very best. you should also remember that this takes a lot of responsibility, so, don't take more work than you can actually do. remember, quality over quantity!

JOIN organizations. it's fun to be with people whom you have same interests with. let me also remind you that co-curricular activities are as important as your academics. it would look good on your resume!

while you still can, SLEEP! you might never have a chance to sleep well in your future years in college.

In one of our classes, we are required to go to an exhibit of World Press Photo and there was this photo by Matthew Moore that i just can't get out of my head.

Here it is:

Note how the fingers of the guy on left went practically IN the other guy's eye sockets? I'm surprised that nothing bad happened to him at all.

Sorry, I'm just totally freaked out since it was the first time i've seen the picture.

What would you do if you knew you would not fail?

i would do it, of course! why wouldn't i?
an additional acheivement in your life makes you more confident, and this, in turn, could push you to try other things that you've never done before.

i am a coward. i've said this a million times but not because i'm degrading myself but because it is who i am (some people are just born to be a coward... i just hope i grow out of it someday!). but, when i know that i would not fail, i do whatever it is and exert even more effort to prove to others (and of course, to myself) that i can do something.

haha! such a funny question... i can't help but answer it!

my first ever crush was i think alexander clark. i saw him first at the movie 'school of rock' (starring jack black). alex (may i call you alex? :D) was the rebel kid there. he played the drums...

it's sooooo funny because the moment the movie was over, i felt totally weak on my knees (literally! i can't stand up to get out of the movie house!). i watched it with a few friends back then, and i wasn't surprised when i found myself fighting over him with them (jokingly, of course!).

it was such a great feeling to finally feel that kind of insanely happy moment with yourself. it's actually a good thing that my first crush was a celebrity and someone i may never have a chance of meeting, because if it was someone from school, for example, then i would have definitely gotten a fool out of myself! :))

What is a quick cure for Summer Boredom?

We have different personalities (duh!)... so we have different preferences and hobbies.

For me, nothing beats enrolling myself to dance classes. For one, it is a form of exercise. You get to burn all the callories you keep on ingesting during the duration of your summer vacation! (Ohhhh! it rhymes!) And of course you get to have fun and meet new friends! (ok... that was kind of lame... but admit it, it's true!)

Is it true that "what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger"?

I think that it is absolutely true. I mean, this quote is all about trying to do something and failing. It is, i think, a known fact that whenever you fail in doing something, you learn from it. You gain experience. Next time, you would know what to do and what not to do. It would just be complete stupidity for you if you don't figure that one out for yourself (the knowing what to do and what not to do bit at least).

The killing part, i think, could be taken literally or figuratively. For the literal part, when you die, of course, you wouldn't BE stronger. YOU'RE DEAD FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! For the figurative sense, when they say kill, i think this could mean giving up or 'killing' your dream (or hope, or whatever).

So, the lesson here is... if you are going to try something stupid, don't get yourself killed!

OK! I'm joking...

... by the way, there's this other quote I know. It says... 'Jokes are half meant.' haha! :D

thoughts on blogging

It's funny how some people think blogging is useless. It isn't. It could although get a little boring sometimes but never (ever) useless.

People would always need someone or something to rant, to vent, or even brag to. We are human after all. Blogging makes this as convenient as it can get. We just open our computer, connect to the internet, go to a blogging site, and just type whatever it is we want to say.

Another fun thing about blogging is that you could read about someone else's thoughts on certain subjects (whether you know them or not). It's good to have means of communication without spending too much or spending anything at all.

I, personally, use my blog to say things that i would never have the courage to say in front of even just a single person. I am a coward, i know! I guess it is because it is in our culture to avoid conflict by not saying anything at all. This is because if you say the truth, sometimes, it would sound very rude which is not the case for most countries like the US (you can cancel out population of USA to track me down! haha!). It also doesn't help that i don't like speaking at all. I get nervous because every time I try to, something else comes out of my mouth! (wouldn't you get scared if that happens to you, too?!) Anyway, I'm all about avoidance and this blogging thing is the closest I can get to saying what i want to say (for the first time, although this is not my only blog... i've got gazillions! :D). To prove that i am indeed a coward, i am not disclosing my identity to anyone. I could tell you though that i am a human being... and you just had a clue right here in this post that i am not american... but, i can speak, read, write and type english!

so that is it for my xanga debut! leave comments if you want! it gets lonely sometimes if i only speak to myslef!

... I'm not crazy, though!

Just because i've gotten irritated with Blogger, I've decided to create a Xanga account. I've always wanted to but i never had time to do so. Now tht i have, please feel free to read all of my rants! Also, don't hesitate to leave a comment or make suggestions or ask quetions or even share some of your irritations (i know i'm not alone!). I, however, would never disclose my identity (unless you can guess from the ever changing number of the human population in the univese!) to anyone. That's what makes this blogging thing fun! I better stop now because this was suppose to be a just a welcome message and it's turning into s blog post! :D
